A year ago today I packed up this crazy crew and drove like the dickens from Virginia to California to reach my family. My father’s heart was failing and we were unsure how much longer he’d be with us. (Spoiler alert: he’s fine now)

I’ve spent most of January in pain. It’s not how I envisioned this year beginning as I had grand plans to finish an important project I’ve been working on for months. Goals of long walks in the early mornings. Dreams of fun date nig
